Lucy Pregnant

Birth Story
Sunday evening around 6:30pm Lucy starting wiggling around like she was going to pop out a puppy any time. Just as my company walked through the door I hear a PLOP onto the floor! And then the fun started.
The first 3 puppies were born, unfortunately the second one didn't make it from complications (Thank you to Lois who came to the rescue and helped by bringing the pup to the emergency vet for me).
4 hours pass and then finally another pup is born, but sadly it was stillborn. Then suddenly bing, bang, boom, another 3 born fast and furious, followed by another stillborn an hour later. Another few hours pass and another one arrives. I figured she must be done so we pack up and head to bed at 5am. Around 5:30am I check the puppy monitor and see another pup. I run downstairs to see but again... another stillborn. (FYI the stillborn pups are underdeveloped fetuses). I sleep next to Lucy's pen just incase and lowenbehold 6:30am rolls around and the 11th puppy is born big and healthy! A tiny miracle. We were both sleep deprived and beyond exhausted at this point and all the pups were finally here.
I have decided after this complicated stressful birth that this is Lucy's last litter. She will be turning 6 soon and has had 5 beautiful litters of puppies. Time for this girl to retire from breeding!
Unfortunately, the black puppy from this litter passed away April 1 2021.
