History
My whole life I have had a passionate love for dogs, even my first word was "dog"!
I have allergies to almost every dog and animal out there. For an animal lover it can be a pretty big deal. Despite my allergies it has never changed the way I feel about dogs. They are so full of love and loyalty, and I can't imagine a life without one.
When I was growing up my parents had a German Shepard named Buddy. When they found out I had allergies when I was a baby they had to find him a new home. After that, my only experience with dogs only came through other peoples dogs, until I got my own dog when I was 10, Zoey.

Pat and Murdoch showed me the basics of caring for a dog when I lived next to them. Their first dog that I met was Sapphire, whom I adored. She was around me from when I was born and I absolutely loved her.
They showed me how they taught their dogs obedience and the proper terms to use. I always loved spending time with them. One summer, Pat took me to a parade where she and other dogs were walking in Eastern Passage by our house. I was overjoyed, and I had SO MUCH fun.
Eventually, their dog Sapphire passed away and they got a new dog named Ginney.
A few years later we moved closer to the city. Luckily, my dad still stayed in contact with them and he told me they were going to breed Ginney! My dad, my brother and myself went down to visit the puppies a few times. This was my very first experience playing with a litter of puppies. I thought it was so fascinating how the mom, Ginney, took such good care of her puppies. I saw how much work it was to look after all the puppies, but I also saw how rewarding it could be. Since then I was inspired to breed my own dogs!

When I turned 10 my mom promised me she would get me a dog. She decided on a Miniature Poodle because it would be hypoallergenic.
I remember the day we went to pick her up like it was just yesterday. I have never been more excited about anything ever before. It was the best day of my life. I finally had my own dog.
Zoey was born on mothers day on May 12th 2001. We picked her up on a sunny summer day and I remember when I first saw her. I couldn't believe how cute and small she was. Since that day I loved her SO MUCH.

Zoey was a huge part of my life. She was my shadow wherever I went. She cuddled me when I was sad and always made me smile with her goofy personality.
My great grandmother, Corina May Robinson, always had a fascination with Zoey. She used to tell me that Zoey was just like one of her old poodles she had growing up, Swani. She also had another poodle named Suzette. Zoey always loved Nana, as you can see in the photo of her kissing her, and she believed that Zoey was her old dog Swani reincarnated to see her. That is a mystery to our family.
A few years later, my great grandmother passed away suddenly on Zoey's 4th birthday.

Zoey and I have always had an inseperable bond. She played a huge role in my life and is the whole reason why I love poodles so much. She's gone backpacking with me on my bike, traveled in my purse to the mall, went to bible camp with me, snuck out at night with me with my friends, at my prom, in my wedding, just about anywhere I could take her, she went. She was my best friend. I can't imagine my life without her.
She has made my life whole and given me a passionate love for poodles that I never would of had without her. Her loyalty to me will never be forgotten.
Sadly, on February 8th 2017 we said our goodbyes to our dear sweet Zoey. She will always hold a special place in my heart.
David and I had always talked about what kind of dog to get. Dave always wanted a big dog but I wanted a poodle. It only made sense to get a Standard Poodle.

As soon as we had a date for the wedding and got the ball rolling on building the house I started thinking about poodles. My first idea was to go online and start looking around for some breeders.
Eventually, I came across a website called "Leeward Standard Poodles". I emailed them my whole life story and my hopes and dreams of becoming a breeder. I mentioned that I was looking for a mentor and also a puppy in the near future.
Immediately Geoff Leboutillier responded and kindly invited my husband and I over for a coffee. That was in January 2013, and since then we have met up many times for coffee, puppy visits, clippings, and sent many emails keeping in touch with our poodle news.
He has been helping me with everything, teaching me how to groom poodles and showing me the ropes. It was the best day in the world when he introduced me to my little Audrey when she was only a few weeks old.
Geoff has been a wonderful mentor and our friendship has blossomed into a wonderful world full of poodles, poodles and more poodles...
My dream come true.

Every happy story always has it's moments of sadness.
On February 8th 2017 my darling Audrey at the tender age of 3, my everything, crossed the rainbow bridge. Her litter of puppies are her legacy and I will never forget the gift she gave me of becoming a breeder. It was my lifelong dream and she gave me that. With every day that passes I miss her more.
On that very same day just an hour before saying goodbye to Audrey, I also had to say my goodbyes to my little Zoey. What an awful day it was. My heart aches for them, I dream of them often.
Rest in Peace my beautiful girls <3 You will forever have my heart.

In these dark days we chose to not let death defeat us.
Despite our broken hearts, we chose to continue our long journey in the breeding world.
On June 10th 2017 we drove to Quebec to pick up our sweet new addition, Charlie. He doesn't replace our dear Audrey, but it sure does help heal the soul.

Since Charlie has come into our lives we have been blessed with many more litters of puppies that continue to grow our hearts.
From Lucy's First litter we decided to keep a puppy, Grace!

Grace has grown into a beautiful healthy dog and a wonderful Mom and is helping us to continue our poodle adventures!
August 2020, David and I separated. It was a huge obstacle in my life that made life very challenging but I got through it, thanks to my dogs and my support system around me!
Summer 2021 Lucy was spayed and retired from her breeding days!
We also welcomed a new puppy to the crew, Scarlett!

And just like that I had 5 dogs!! (what the hell?!)
In late January 2022, Lucy became very sick suddenly. I rushed her to the vet but it was too late. She passed away within a half hour. After further investigating, we discovered she had eaten a toothpick and it punctured her bowels.
