Good morning! Today we woke up to SNOW! What the heck!? It's almost May... come on now weather!

We've been dying to go outside and get some work done on the yard and we finally managed to yesterday. Indoor and outdoor projects never seem to end when you own a house. We were super bored with the color of our door and thought we'd switch it up. Have a look at the before and after photos. It's much more cheery now!

I also have a bit of good news. As you know when Audrey was sick with Evan's Syndrome she had also tested positive for Lyme Disease which grew some concern for our other dogs. Yesterday I had Lucy at the vet to update her vaccinations and I had them test her for Lyme Disease just to be on the safe side. Thankfully she tested negative and we vaccinated her against it just to be on the safe side. I will also do Bogart as well when he goes in in June. 

More good news is that I have some more photos of our new puppy! Mind you, we have not officially chosen which puppy we will be bringing home until they are much older, but we still know it will be one of the cream males (Either Moose, Finch or Macaw). We have decided on a name but we'll announce it later once we have the full registered kennel name as well.

Happy Easter from Bogart and Lucy!
​The Easter Bunny came early in our house...

Okay, fine I'll stop torturing everyone and tell you our big news!!

And it is....

Were getting another puppy!!!

I know. You're probably not surprised. And some people already knew. But our house has been missing a piece since Audrey passed away and we only see one solution. He will be coming home with us in June! 

The reason I took so long to say anything is because we were waiting for the mom
to have her puppies! We were specifically looking for a cream male puppy and luckily the mom delivered 9 healthy puppies last night! She had them a few days early so we were pleasantly surprised! The best part is that 3 of the puppies born were cream males so we have a little selection.

He will be coming from a lovely breeder in Quebec whom I've been corresponding with for the last few weeks. 

We are over the moon that our wishes have been granted and we can take home one of these little nuggets in June!

Well, hello Easter weekend!​
This weekend has already started with a bang and it's just beginning!

It started with our basement flooding yesterday (ugh). The joys of turning on your outside  hose prematurely. Ah well, all part of home ownership. We're just happy there was minimal damage which we probably won't even need to go through our insurance.

The good news is that we got our dishwasher repaired finally (it's been down and out for 2 months). And NS Power finally cut down the tree that was straggling between our power lines. A few things off the check list!

I'm getting antsy to start gardening... I may start cleaning out the flower beds this weekend depending on the weather.

Some more news is that Lucy went in heat on April 8th, which is okay, I knew it would happen soon. Last year she went in heat on April 6th, her body is like clock work.  I was hoping she would hold off for her 2nd birthday so we could have a summer litter but nope! Our plan with her now is to breed her next heat which will likely be in October 2017 (pups born Dec 2017/Jan 2018). So there's an ETA for those of you waiting for Lucy's 1st litter!​ I do have a local stud picked out so I don't have to do surgical AI again, but there's still more wrinkles to be ironed out with that so we'll see.

I have another big announcement this weekend but I will share it with you later today or tomorrow!

Wow it's April already! This year sure is flying by. Were anxiously waiting for Spring to arrive now. 

We have lots of exciting new announcements coming soon, you'll have to stay tuned, we don't want to jinx anything until things are SOLID.

I currently have MEGA puppy fever!!!

Only 7 more weeks until Lucy turns 2! Which is so exciting!! I hope she keeps her legs crossed and holds back from going in heat just a few more weeks so we can have a summer litter of puppies! How AWESOME would that be!

I've been eyeballing a few Studs but I have yet to decide. I'm waiting on some poodle pedigree results. 

We had 2 little visitors last weekend, Moose and Watson, puppies from our previous litter. It's so lovely to see them! 

I gave Watson her first hair cut. That was not easy. It turned out pretty cute though! Now, I'm by no means an expert at shaving a dog. I like to think I get a little better each time I do it but a real groomer would probably disagree, Haha!

I also had a grand time grooming Bogart and Lucy last weekend. I shaved off their winter coat. Bogart felt especially insecure the first few days but he's gotten used to it now. They like to snuggle up in the bed now at night to stay warm!
