Heads up - it's a long post!
Here's the scoop!
So first off as many of you know we have added a new animal to the farm! Another goat! We named him Bobby. As you guys know (but some may not), we named all our goats after characters in the popular TV show Supernatural. Why? Well, when I first started watching the show a few years ago was around the same time when we bought our first two goats. When Dave pulled up the driveway to get the goats and they were still unnamed, the song 'Carry on Wayward Son' came on the radio (the theme song for the show Supernatural) and that's the moment when he knew we had to name them after Sam and Dean, the two main characters... and it has just continued from there. If you don't watch it you should because it's a very entertaining series and they're going on their 13th season now! Anyways, so here is Bobby, and also a photo of the original Bobby from the show! I'll be adding some more photos and videos to The Goats page here on my website!
Dave made him some Birthday pancakes... the tradition in our house!
I also ordered some DNA tests through another company but I'm still waiting for that to come in to do. That's an optional thing but it's good to have in my back pocket! I'm planning to breed her when the time comes (hopefully Sept/Oct).
And for those asking about breeding Charlie... he wont be bred for 2 years. He must first sexually mature and also pass OFA health testing and the Canine Good Neighbor test- so you still have a long wait for his offspring! PS. Were going to start puppy classes in September!
He has a LONG wait list but here's a link to his website... if he likes you, you might get lucky!
I hope you've made it this far in my post! Sorry I have lots to say today... maybe I'm procrastinating because I have to clean my house today!
I'm currently designing a new page here on the website For Kids. It will be under the 'Puppies' tab and will be posted today!
I'll be including some online poodle games, word search AND a fun questionnaire/quiz! Stay tuned for that!
If you have been dying to come down here this summer we'll be having 2 events in September!
On September 9th we'll be participating in the 50 mile yard sale, which if you don't know it's goes down our street and were just 1km down the Meaghers Grant road from the police station. You know, selling our junk and stuff. BUT if you are down this way stop by our place! Our farm will be open to the public and we'll have some little baggies of corn and you can feed the goats, and you can meet the new animals we'll have!
ALSO.....
Were having an OPEN FARM DAY!! Mind you, were technically not an operational business since our animals are all freeloaders so we don't have any fancy insurance. So if a goat steps on your toe because you wore flipflops please don't hate us!
But on Sunday September 17th Nova Scotia has an open farm day which we will be participating in! Our unofficial plan is to have hot dogs, face painting, goat feeding, bunny petting, and all that good fun stuff! We need to know a general idea of how many people will be attending this event (rain or shine) and what kind of activities you would like so please RSVP below if you think you can go! Any information is welcome!!! Once we gather some more thoughts I'll post an update on what we'll be doing!!
